What is an osteosynthesis?

It is the surgical procedure including the reduction and internal fixation of a bone fracture with implants. The main aim is to bring bone fragments together and stabilize the fracture site while healing takes place. It can be performed either with an open or percutaneous approach, but the advantage of percutaneous procedure is the possibility to start early rehabilitation.
