Why use an implant instead of a plaster cast?

Not every fracture can be cured by reposition and immobilization of the fractured limb in plaster cast. More complicated ones, usually induced by high energetic injuries (traffic accidents, falls from height) or caused by the poor bone structure, require more complex medical procedures because for example soft tissue disruption associated to the trauma.

Solutions used in modern orthopedics and traumatology enable early rehabilitation of patients, consequently faster recovery, getting fit and returning to work and normal life.
